Our Story...

Michele and I met through an online dating agency called eharmony.com. I used a few other online dating services and was intrigued by eharmony because they claim to match you up via personality traits rather then the typical meat market method. I signed up for the service not expecting to meet anyone special. I went out on two other dates from eharmony prior to meeting Michele. Needless to say they didn't work out well, amazingly enough I noticed that both dates and I really hit it off. There was one exception, I wasn't physically attracted to them.

I read over Michele's profile and was anxious to take her out. We set up a date after talking a few times via instant message. She wanted to meet up for a Sunday lunch while I pushed for meeting on a Saturday evening date. She was easy going and agreed to meeting up on Saturday evening in Philadelphia where I had a close friend, Patrick Gill, who lived close to Old City. We met at Plow and the Stars at about 8pm.

I never saw a picture of Michele because she didn't have one in her profile, so I wasn't sure who she was. I was sitting at the bar and had a couple cocktails while waiting for her to arrive (I was early as usual). I saw a beautiful girl come walking into the entrance, to much of my surprise it was her! She put her hand out to introduce herself and I slapped it to the side an dove in for a hug. She hugged me and sat down next to me at the bar.

We had a few cocktails and really enjoyed our conversation - things were going very well. Then a gentleman sat next to Michele (the oppisite side of where I was) and started talking to us both. He seemed like a decent person and kept getting drinks about 3 times the size of mine. Michele went to the bathroom and he asked me how we met and I told him we met from eharmony. He said a blind date? I said yes, for the most part - we never met before in person - so yes!?!?

Michele still wasn't back from the bathroom yet and he said would you mind if I tried to take her out on a date? I said if you buy me the big drinks like yours - he agreed. I'm thinking, this is crazy!?!? At this point I thought she was into me, but wasn't certain and figured if she really did like the other guy then perhaps it was meant to be. Well fortunately for me she was interested in me & not the other guy. She actually rolled her eyes at one point, when he decided to show her his muscle - I knew at this point he was through. She rolled her eyes and I went in to kiss her, he knew the game was over at that point in time.
